The Mills, Godmanchester

History of the Mills

The mill was constructed in the 1840s for Charles Veasey. It was a linseed mill producing oil and cattle cake. In 1924 the mill was converted to make hosiery. In 1983 it was converted into residences. The flour mill in the distance was built in 1861 but later demolished.
