JM sent this note in 2026:
I have another address in Cambridge where my great grandfather Ernest Cullen Corbin lived in 1921 with his wife Alice and his aunt Harriet Corbin (who I assume was the owner of the property as she was 70 yrs old) – 163 Chesterton Road. Ernest was a valuer of antiques and worked for Waring and Gillow of Oxford Street; they had property in Hastings but were staying in Cambridge at this time with the Aunt. Frances and John Lambert and family, who were my great great great great grandparents owned property in Silver Street from about 1800 until the death of Frances, the mother, in 1838 when property was left via a will to daughters Sophia Lambert and Frances Lambert (later Corbin, who bought 24 Malcolm street in 1847) but I can’t find the number of the actual house.
1921
Harriet Corbin, 70, b France
Sarah Elizabeth Haggar, servant, 50, b Herts
Ernest Cullen Corbin, nephew visitor, 53, b Sussex, valuer of antiques
Alice Elizabeth Corbin, visitor, 55, b Kent
In 1911 Harriet Corbin was living at 24 Malcolm Street.
