1913

William Thomas Thrussell & son, bootmakers

An article in the Cambridge Evening new 1.10.1971 stated that Thrussell and Son had been a bespoke boot making firm for 131 years. The business was originally acuired by Mr W T Thrussell in 1840 and remained in the family’s hands until closure in 1971. The current store manager, 75 year old Edwin Covill) was due to retire and the lease with Sidney Sussex College was about to expire.

1932

Thrussell and Son acquired the business of G Dewberry bootmaker at 44 Sidney Street. They kept both premises until 1954 when they closed 44 Sidney Street.

1962

Thrussell & Son, boot and shoe maker

1971

Thrussell and Son closed their business at 28 Sidney Street.
