Ellis Merry, jobmaster, undertaker and funeral carriage proprietor
Ellis Merry’s ambulance was much used by local doctors to move patients to and from nursing homes. In the picture he is at the head of the stretcher. He had the first motor hearse in Cambridge and in addition to his undertaking business kept a livery stable and riding school.
The invoice shown is for the funeral of Thomas Askham and it was sent to his son Arthur Askham.
