Listed building on Heritage at Risk Register

Parish church. C13 nave and C14 north and south aisles. C14-C15 west tower and later C17 or early C18 chancel.

It was reported in 1932 by the Cambridge Chronicle that ‘probably there is no church in the diocese in more perilous condition.’ By 1937 there had been an appeal and key building works carried out.

Sir George Downing (c.1625 – 1684) after whom Downing Street is named, is buried in the family vault here.
