In 2025 JK sent this note:

Frank William Hobson was both a farmer in Hardwick and Comberton and a Chef who lived here with his wife Alice Rebecca (Carter). According to the 1901 census they were living here. Frank and Alice Rebecca had nine children: John Frederick, Frank Leslie, Winifred, Frederick Charles Carter,  Bertha Minnie, Alice, Leonard, Ethel, Marjorie. Alice died in 1951. and Frank died in 1954 but the house remained in the family as his daughter Mrs Winifred Berry moved back here in 1953 before Frank died and she continued living here until 1965. (Two of her daughters Daphne and June were also living with her in 1958.) Winifred moved to Cowper Road, Cambridge.

Alice, 50, b Cambridge

Frederic, 22, assists in dairy business partner Hobson and Sons farmers, b Derbyshire

Bertha, 19, b Cambridge

Leonard, 15, assists in general farm work Hobson & Sons farmers, b Cambridge

Ethel, 12, b Cambridge

Marjory, 10, b Cambridge


1934

Frank W Hobson retired as cook.


1939

Frank W Hobson, b 1868, chef and caterer retired
