History of All Saints

Parish Church. West tower, C14, nave and chancel rebuilt 1866 by W M Fawcett.

Vanishing Cambridgeshire notes p.131:

The 14th century tower still stands but the main body of the church suffered from centuries of neglect and was ruinous by the 18th century. In 1753 the chancel collapsed; in 1785 part of the nave collapsed. In 1857 the rector vanished and was found in his night-shirt totally insane.

In 1861 Henry Brown, the new curate, raised money to build a new church. Designed by W N Fawcett it was completed in 1866.

However by 1978 the church was once again in a poor state of repair.
