Mrs Pammenter
CIP 7.6.1890: A MISSING HUSBAND, Mrs. Pammenter, of 5, Covent Garden, made application to the Bench with reference to the disappearance of her husband, Joseph Pammenter, aged 69 years. Her husband had plenty of money when he left home, and was a man of means. —Dr. Cooper : Do you fancy he has run away from you —I do not know what to think. His friends have been poisoning his mind against me ever since we have been married. —How long have you been married ?—Twelve months. I am in my youthful days.—Has he ever gone away before ?—No. He said Good morning when he went out, and I said Good morning. I thought he went to the Fen, beyond Chesterton Junction, to look after his pony.—Dr. Cooper said the Press no doubt would take notice of the application, and the police would make inquiries.—ln answer to Detective Sergeant Carter, the applicant said she believed her husband was “boxed up” in house in Union Terrace or Gwydir-street. She wanted her husband to maintain her. Her husband was attired in dark blue trousers and waistcoat and a gray coat.—The applicant was advised that if she could not find her husband she could apply for a summons under the new Act for maintenance, and then the police would have to find him.
