Village Hall, Newton

History of the Village Hall

A Women’s Institute and a Social Club for Men  were started in Newton in 1919. In September 1920 Sir Charles and Lady Walston presented the Village Hall built by Mr Jude of Harston and designed by Sir Ambrose Poynter. The construction included a 13th century beam from an ancient abbey.
