History of 318 Histon Road

1939

Doris E Barrett, b 1905

Harold, b 1896, chief clerk Fitzwilliam House Univ. of Cambridge

?

According to ‘Growing Up in Cambridge’ by Alec Forshaw, who lived in 320 Histon Road, 318 must have changed its named after WWII to ‘Cheriton’. Forshaw describes in the detail numerous occupants of the house which was let to St John’s College. He lists the Parrs from Pennsylvania, the Grillos for Nigeria, the Chands from Fiji, the Carringtons from Jamaica and the Frasers from Canada.

However, Forshaw also describes the Barretts living in the next house along, so there may be some confusion here.

1962 no occupants listed in Kellys.
