By 1914-15 the Nutcombe family seem to have moved to 15 Beche Road according to the electoral register. In 1915 he attested for the Cambridgeshire Regiment but was posted to the Northants Regiment in January 1917.

Thomas Arthur Nutcombe: Second Lieutenant, 101st Squadron, Royal Air Force and East Lancashire Regiment. Killed 2 August 1918.
