67 – 69 Newmarket Road

History of 67 - 69 Newmarket Road

1913:

Frederick Charles Thorburn, watch and clock maker

1962:

Godfrey Holmes, motor car accessories

A B Gray in Cambridge Revisited notes that at the end of his life the dentist Dr George Cunningham lived at 67 Newmarket Road. However, the on-line documentary evidence is that he lived until at least 1911 at Merton Hall in Northampton Street. It is possible that he moved here after leaving Merton Hall. A B Gray describes the single room that Cunningham had at this address in some detail.
