Harold Charles Osborne, Private 5831262, 2nd Battalion, Cambridgeshire Regiment. Died as a Prisoner of War of the Japanese 21st September 1944 when the transport ship Hofuku Maru on which he was travelling to Japan was sunk [by American aircraft]. Aged 27. Son of Violet Osborn; husband of Gladys May Osborn, of Cambridge. No known grave. Commemorated on SINGAPORE MEMORIAL, Kranji War Cemetery, Singapore. Column 60.
