1939:

William Hayward, b 1885, railway labourer

Elizabeth, b 1891

Vincent P, b 1924, errand boy

Nancy McGinley, b 1917, domestic help

William Hayward was William and Elizabeth’s son. He was a private with the Cambridgeshire regiment and was captured at Singapore by the Japanese. He died on 21st Sep 1944 when the Japanese ship which was taking him to a labour camp in Japan was sunk by a US submarine.
