Murkett’s moved to this location in 1931. The Dennis Murkitt had been a whitesmith in Huntingdon repairing bicycles. he died in 1891 and his eldest son, Harry, founded Murkett Bros in 1893. The 1931 showroom had a distinctive Art Deco frontage.
