In 1881 William was living with his wife at 31 Norwich Street.
In 1873 William was awarded this medal by the Cambridge Working Mens Club. In the Bury & Suffolk Standard 17th February 1874 there is an announcement of medals awarded at the Barnwell Working Men’s Institute for the Cambridge Industrial Exhibition. A Bronze medal (Class I) was awarded to William Butcher, photographer, Cambridge, for crayon shading after Mulready.
