Walter Williams Barker: Private 321027, 12th Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Killed in action 19 August 1918. Born St Luke’s, Chesterton, enlisted Cambridge. Birth registered in the April to June Quarter 1884 in the Chesterton Registration District. Born 18 April 1884, baptised 20 July 1884, of George Street, St Luke (Chesterton), Cambridge, son of Emma and Elijah (a gardener). In the 1911 census he was aged 26, son of Emma (a widow), a Town Postman, born New Chesterton, resident 22 George Street, Chesterton Cambridge.
