The British Queen PH and nos. 229 - 243 High Street, Chesterton

225 – 227, British Queen Public House, High Street, Chesterton

History of the British Queen

1937 not listed

1962 not listed

Images of England – Chesterton – by the Chesterton Local History Group – notes that the picture shows the High Street looking towards Green End Road in the early 1920s. The building on the left is the British Queen public house. It was demolished in the 1950s and the ground used for temporary classrooms for the nearby St Andrew’s School. However, listings of the British Queen seem illusive at present.

The private house from 229 to 243 have survived however.
