History of 4 Milton Road

1939:

Albert Henry Francis, b 1883, grocer

Ada Hepzibah, b 1881, shop assistant

Bert, b 1904, manager radio manufacturers

Ada M, b 1920, saleswoman boots and shoes

Betty, b 1922, grocery shop assistant

Their son, Ernest, was a private in the Cambridgeshire Regiment. He fought at the Battle of Singapore and was captured by the Japanese. He died of beriberi at Sonkurai, Thailand on 22nd Oct 1943.
