In 2024 BY sent the following note: Robert and Charlotte Mason (census) who owned and lived there, were my great grandparents.
It was always known as Tunbridge Farm or The Tunbridge (not Turnbridge). My grandmother Eliza Mason was born there in 1862. She and her sister Sarah went on a long sailing voyage for their health, on the “Invercargill,” arriving in New Zealand in March 1885. I understand that they both intended to return home but neither of them did, both marrying and settling in New Zealand.
