History of 40 Fore Hill

1863

Samuel Bolton began his photographic business in Fore Hill. After his death his widow Martha carried the business on. There son Thomas was in business on the Market Place in the early 1900s.

1907

Thomas Bolton took over the Fore Hill premises.

1914 – 1918

Thomas Bolton served in photographic section of Royal Flying Corps

1943

Thomas Bolton died and business closed.
