Charles Bester interviewed by Paul Melton c1980

Charles was Parish Clerk of Haddenham for 40 years and here are his memories of the village. His book, “A History of the Parish” was published in 2000. He was a regular helper at the Farmland Museum.

This recording is Charles Bester reading a detailed tour of Haddenham, starting in the east and working towards the centre of the village, the other and finally south down the High Street. There is a great deal of detail about buildings, archaeology, families and individuals.
