History of Bell Inn

In the early 20th century this was kept by John Hills. He also made sweets and rock and had a stall on the village green on festivals.

John Hills, 61, innkeeper and general carter, b Isleham

Ann, 60, b Isleham

Site was sold to the Co-op in 1914 for £290.

1963 shop with living quarters was replaced in 1963 and extended in 1983.
