The Hole, Coates Drove, Isleham

History of the Hole

Arthur Houghton used top meet here as a boy for sacred meetings on Sunday evenings called Camp Meetings. The preacher would talk from a wagon in the Hole and people would sit on the grass slopes and sing hymns. A popular preacher was Billy King, the postman.
