Village Green, Isleham

History of the Village Green

A. Houghton in Memories of Isleham Village writes about the village green:

Public meetings and sometimes the village band would play in their lovely uniforms. There was a deep ditch running alongside where the garage and petrol pumps are now. A tunnel went under the farmer’s roadway. This tunnel went right into Priory field.
