The Windmill, Stretham

History of the Windmill, Stretham

Listed Building

Tower windmill now a house. 1881. Tarred brick of four storeys with metal ogee cap and fantail renewed 1978. Machinery replaced with parts from Pymore and Gamlingay mills. (Historic England)


The windmill was adopted by the Observer Corps as an aircraft-spotting post between the World Wars.
