House, early C18 on site of Gilbertine Priory. Red brick with steeply pitched, cement tile roof with C19 bargeboarding to gable ends.

The death in 1188 of the medieval preacher and mystic St Gilbert was followed by the creation of a small order influenced by his ideas. Maud de Hauvill (Haverhill) was so affected by her meeting with him that she dreamt she saw him going to heaven. Fifteen years later, she and her husband Ralph gave lands for the foundation of a small priory or chantry for three priests to follow the order and pray for their sons. The house never became very large in in 1535 had a total income of £10 16s 0d.

Fragments of the stone remain at Priory Farm but the site of bthe priory itself is believed to have been at Riverside Road.
