Roman farmstead, Buryfield, Bury

History of Roman farmstead

Proceedings of CAS 2024 contain a short report on a Roman Farmstead in Bury, Hunts.

The archaeology showed evident of a settlement from Early to Mid-Roman period. The inhabitants were relatively affluent and they may have been associated with a villa estate within easy reach of Godmanchester.
