In Bluntisham the old country rite of debt freeing is recorded. Any bride in debt before marriage could free herself from such obligations by walking across the road naked to her future husband’s house, thus leaving her past behind.
1844 Gifford White was convicted to transportation for life for sending a letter threatening arson to farmer Isaac Ilett.
