Steam Mill, St Ives, 1909
Steam Mill, Low Road, St Ives
History of Steam Mill
The mill was originally powered by a beam engine but this was replaced in the 1880s by a modern boiler and engine. Water was drawn from the Ouse and stored in an enormous cistern. The chimney was removed in 1909 and the mill converted to a private house. It was demolished in 1986.
