St Peter’s, Papworth Everard

History of St Peter

Listed Building

Parish church. Chancel walls and nave including buttresses C13 with east wall of chancel and west bay of nave rebuilt possibly in C17 re-using medieval material. West tower demolished after a great storm in 1741.

Lych gate, dated 1888.

The church was built in 1851 and the tower added twenty years later. The spire, built in 1963, was removed in 1963, being deemed dangerous.
