Explore the Legacies of Windrush in Cambridge

Home to the Cambridgeshire Cricket League from 1967 – 1985 and the Sunday Pub League sponsored by Green King. In 1967 Robert Loinsworth, Bryan King and Winslow Doyle founded the Cambridge West Indian Cricket Club (CWICC) to strengthen ties between the Caribbean and Cambridge communities.

For nearly 20 years the club played local teams from Cherry Hinton, Elsworth Haslingfield and Shelford. They formed strong ties with local colleges playing their teams as well. The club used to meet in the Midland Tavern, Devonshire Road.
