This was the location of the water supply that fed the conduit that ran into Cambridge.

Francis Macdonald Cornford, Fellow Trinity College

Professor Cornford lost a son in the Spanish Civil War. He became very involved in supporting the cause of the Basque children who came as refugees to Cambridge in 1938 and were housed at 1 Salisbury Villas, 29 Station Road.
