During the smallpox epidemic, Stetchworth Dairies informed its customers that every precaution was being taken and that its staff were being vaccinated. Eucalyptus Soap, manufactured by the Castle Soap Company of Cambridge, was advertised as one of the surest means of preventing contagion. “Petrol Preparations” were also claimed to ward off infection and could be obtained from Petrol Limited, Union Road. —Advertisements
