Rooks Street (Lane), Cottenham

History of Rooks Street

According to Cottenham in Focus, 2002, Rooks Street was known as Rooks Lane before the Enclosure. There was a rookery in a spinney on the church side of the lane. Rooks Street was formed when a newly constructed road joined Rooks Lane over Church Field to Little End in 1842.
