History of 22 High Ditch Road, Fen Ditton

Manor House, Fen Ditton c.1900 (Cambridgeshire Collection) The photo shows the mounting block outside.

Farmhouse. Early C17. Timber-framed and plastered. Plain tile roofs hipped with gablet to left hand. Flint with gault brick dressings. Two storeys and attics, continuous jetty to main range and jettied cross-wing to west.

Home of Arthur Matheson Fison who had grown up on Fison Farm. [This may be the same as Manor Farm]. He is believed to have served as a temporary lieutenant in the Cambridgeshire Regiment in 1916. He married Ellen Mary Arnold in Cambridge in June 1926 and they had four children.

He died at Manor Farm in 1978 at the age of 86.
