St Mary, Fowlmere

History of St Mary, Fowlmere

Listed Building

Nave early C12, western walls of chancel later C12; central tower and chancel rebuilt late C13; west tower arch and second stage, north arcade and north aisle early C14; south transept c.1300; north transept mid C14; clerestory, north porch and top stage of tower C15.

Chest tomb. C19. Limestone and sandstone with balustered recessed quoins to Rachel Wedd, daughter of Wm and Elizabeth Wedd 1822 and to John Crown Agnis.


Iverna Moss wrote a descriptive history of the stained glass windows of the church in 2014 which she has kindly agreed to be made available via Capturing Cambridge.
