85 Cherry Hinton Road according to the 1913 Cambridge Guide was the home of William Taylor Archer, the chemist. He had previously lived on the other side of the road but crossed in 1905. He had been apprenticed to a Mr Flanders of Mill Road, a rather legendary figure for many reasons, including his ability to extract teeth.

In 1947 the shop was taken over by Coulson and Fisher Ltd.
