1932
The premises of George Stace, 15 Petty Cury, were assigned by Amelia Stace, his widow, to Ralph Elliott Moore in 1921. Moore retained the valuable George Stace trading name. In 1932 Moore moved his residence from 224 Hills Road to 4 Luard Road and remained there until about 1970.
1941
Michael Bowyer in Air Raid! pub. 1986 notes that incendiary bombs which fell in the raid of 9th May 1941 caused fires at nos 224 and 226 Hills Road which needed the services of the fire service to put out.
