John Bryn Edwards (1889-1922) was a baronet, ironmaster and philanthropist, whose promise as a social and political leader was cut short by his early death at the age of 33. he was the owner of the Duffryn Steel and Tinplate works which gave him the resources to fund philanthropic and charitable endeavours.

Kathleen was the daughter of John Corfield, managing director of Dillwyn & Co. John and Kathleen married on 18th January 1911 and John studied at Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
