Robert (Bob) Sheppard 1932 – 2019, Head of Peptide Synthesis Group at LMB for over 20 years and recognised internationally as the world leader in the field of automated, solid phase peptide synthesis.  Recipient of the Queen’s Award for Technological Achievement 1989. Liveryman of the Salters’ Company and Freeman of the City of London.
