Frederick Capon: Able Seaman, Royal Navy. Lost at sea 12/01/1942. Age 30. His parents lived at 35 Bermuda Terrace.

Frederick served on the Maro MV, a greek cargo ship. It was en route from Garston to Halifax carrying a cargo of soda ash in January 1942. On 12th January the convoy was hit by a severe storm and it is presumed that Frederick, manning a small gun, was lost overboard. The ship was later attacked by gunfire from U-552 on 20th January  and sunk in the North Atlantic.
