History of 76 St Philip's Road

1913:

Alfred Barker, passenger guard GER

1918:

Rifleman Sidney Reginald Frederick Barker 6th London Regiment killed in action September 1918. His Captain writing in that month stated that he had reason to believeRifleman Barker was a prisoner of war. He added: “He was a Lewis gunner and a very good soldier. You have the pleasure of knowing he did his duty manfully and well and I am sure that you are proud of him.” Mrs Caroline Barber would be glad of any information concerning her son.
