Electoral rolls show that Charles Parr and his family live here for a few years before moving to number 47 where they stay until 1914.

On the 5th September 1902 the Cambridge Daily News reported on how Cambridge celebrated the Coronation of King Edward VII.  In particular they described the “Old People’s Tent”, which contained “a large number of people who were present at the Cambridge festivites on the occasion of the late Queen’s Coronation”.  The article then went on to list the names, ages and addresses of the old people who were present.  This list includes “Mrs. Martha Tyrell, 24 York Street (74)”.

Ann Elizabeth Mallows, 43, b. St Andrews the Less, Cambridge

Gertrude Annie Mallows, 21, office clerk at Knitting Company b. St Andrews the Less, Cambridge (possibly at A.R.C. knitting company, who had a shop at 12 Mill Road and a factory off of Norfolk Street)

Dorothy Martha Mallows, 16, milliner, b. St Andrews the Less, Cambridge

Martha Tyrrell, mother-in-law, 80, widow, b. St Andrews the Less, Cambridge

Ann and Wallis have been married for twenty two years and have had three children, one of whom has died.
