Brighter Days

Brighter Days club nights at The Junction

(author: Paul R Owens)

Brighter Days was set up by local Cambridge residents, Sarah Day and Steve Reed, and with the help of a troupe of talented local djs, promotes soulful house and disco nights in and around the Cambridge area.

Originally hosting popular events at Anglia Ruskin University and the Fez club, along with two highly successful local festivals, Brighter Days held three incredible club nights at the Junction – the first hosted the popular Ibiza club night “Glitterbox” (founded by Simon Dunmore of Defected Records) with djs Joey Negro, Full Intention (Michael Gray & Jon Pearn) and Melvo Baptiste.

The second event was Brighter Days 3rd Birthday Party, welcoming back Simon Dunmore, Full Intention and introducing Melon Bomb (dj trio from Ibiza). As with the first night, the upstairs bar was transformed into a VIP boutique, this time with a “Studio 54” Disco theme, with Brighter Days djs Blackwax, CJ Cooper, chief koala, Simon Morgan and Adi Allen providing an evening of delightful disco grooves !

The third and most recent night was another fantastic sellout event with House Legend Tony Humphries and djs Ricky Morrison, Mike Maher and Tonky, along with the Brighter Days Residents.

All these nights proved highly popular, with an amazing blend of music, new tunes and club classics, along with a great mix of people, from a younger crowd right up to the older more seasoned clubbers.
