22 Eden Street, Cambridge

History of 22 Eden Street

1913

Miss Fanny Petit

LE emailed in 2022:

Fredrick George and Alice Alexandria Hammond née Mole lived at 22 Eden Street; I’m not sure when they moved in exactly but George was killed fighting on the western front on 21st of March 1918 aged 34.  Alice never remarried and lived at 22 Eden Street until her death in April 1947 aged 63.

Fredrick George is a  2nd great-grand-uncle of my partner and he was originally from Arundel, Sussex; he has no known grave but is registered on the wall of remembrance at CWGC Pozieres and the Arundel war memorial.

I believe Alice was originally from, and lived all her life in Cambridge; she is buried in an unmarked grave in Cambridge City Cemetery.
