A couple who caused controversy in English literature

Frank and Queenie Leavis. He was a fellow of Downing College and Reader in English. He married Queenie who published “Fiction and the reading public” while he published “New bearings in English poetry”. They jointly founded the quarterly Scrutiny. He became notorious for his lecture “Two cultures? The significance of C P Snow”
