An old house with dutch style parapets

Late Cl6 with C17 North-east wing. (Historic England)

A good example of a late 16th century local brick building later extended. The gables at each end of the original building have crow-stepped parapets. It was enlarged in the 17th century and restored in 1924 when the extension on the south west end was entirely rebuilt. It used to be called Lady Southwell’s house (Sir Francis Pemberton’s half-sister). Re-roofed in the early 2000s.
