that opened up at 5 o 'clock in the evening and most pubs as you know didn't open until 6 they'd got a license that they could open at five and they used to close it earlier they opened it length of time instead of closing it they closed later so what you used to do all the builders and all those men used to go in there on their way home from work that's when it was very popular that's the fact you went in there you had to have a jacket and tie on in those days we won't know it wasn't a club where you could go in like this today I go in with shorts up there now but I mean in those days it was jacket and tie and you had to be interviewed before I mean, you can't just join, you have to be interviewed and go in front of a committee, basically, whether you're a Conservative.", "words":
