1913 Hopkins and Co, livery stable keepers, Edward Jodrell Hopkins
This was a riding school with up to 60 horses. Patrons included the Duke of Gloucester and Prince Albert (King George VI), who played polo at Long Road every week. Jodrell also bred the Hopkins Terrier out of the Norfolk Terrier. Jodrell’s daughter was Marjorie Hopkins who lived in Orchard Street.
